Jeweler’s bestiary
Butterflies, fish, birds, bears, panthers, snakes, dragons … Jewelers’ collections are populated with animals, some are fanciful or realistic, others are hybrids, domestic or wild. Some are even codes of recognition like Cartier’s panther. On September 8th and 15th, the Van Cleef & Arpels School is holding a conference on this classic theme and yet another on the representation of the feather.
